Parisien/Côté House
Description
Built by Auguste Labelle circa 1887, this red brick house is truly beautiful. In 1928, the house was divided in two: Mrs. Joséphat Lanthier lived in the front section while the back part was occupied by Flore Parisien and Oscar Lanthier, from the Lanthier Bakery in Alexandria.
In 1931, Élie O. Bertrand, Member of Parliament from 1929 to 1949, acquired the house. Important changes were then made, such as the installation of an office for the MP. The house was later sold to Philippe and Alexandrine Cadieux. Around 1954, Marie-Paule and Anselme Parisien became the owners, and the MP's office became a hair salon where Paulette received her clients for about twenty years. Since then, this ancestral residence has remained a family home filled with memories.
