Évanturel Train Station
Description

Few references exist to describe the exact location of the Évanturel train station. The rail line, which came from Hawkesbury, passed through L’Orignal where there was a station on Longueuil Street. This part of the railroad still exists since the Ivaco Rolling Mills Company uses it to transport its materials. The CNR track criss-crossed farms along the Bay Road before stopping at Évanturel Station which was located on the Kingsbury family farm, at the corner of Bay and Blue Corner Roads. On September 11, 1919, the rail company authorized construction of a siding
extension, to help prevent collisions.
The last train passed through here in 1939.
