Gérard Lalonde House
Description

Julien Lalonde (1) built this ancestral home around 1859. Some old outbuildings remain, such as the henhouse and the cookery or summer kitchen. At the time of the Great Depression, Julien’s son, Julien Jr. (2) began growing hops which he sold to Molson’s Brewery in Montreal. After his own father's death, son Gérard (3) managed the farm for close to twenty years. Later, he either rented or sold parcels of land to others.
Gérard (1921-1985) and his wife Huguette took great care of this heritage home, which still evokes the tranquility of yesteryear.
