20. Duldraeggan Hall
Built by Alexander Grant (1774-1848) on land purchased in 1805, this beautiful stone residence was inspired by the Grant family estate in Scotland. From 1821 to 1986, few owners lived in this unique house in L'Orignal: the Grant family from c1821 to 1909, John F. Raphael from 1910 to 1915 and the families of Doctors Walter and Drummond Smith from 1915 to 1986.
From the road, a natural path, once used only for weddings and funerals, leads us to the main entrance and its imposing two-storey verandah that reflects the neoclassical style. Duldreaggan Hall offers a bucolic view with its large fenced pastures where horses graze.
Now listed as an Airbnb, Duldreaggan Hall offers visitors a luxurious stay in one of L'Orignal's most beautiful historic sites.
