6. Old Post Office
Built in 1826 by Frederic Winters, this building is one of the oldest in L’Orignal. This private residence was originally a general store and later served as a post office for many years.
Conrad Dubois, a veteran of WW1, was its postmaster for many years. On one occasion, he received an unusual package: a German soldier’s helmet taken at Apeldoorn, Holland, and sent to L’Orignal as a souvenir.
