5. Convent of Notre-Dame-des-Anges
This residence was built in 1876 for John and Annie Fraser. From 1902 to 1913, lawyer William S. Hall and his wife resided there. In 1913, the congregation of the Sisters of Charity of Ottawa bought the house as a convent for the nuns who came to teach at Public School No. 1 in the village.
Known as the Convent of Our Lady of the Angels, the exterior of this heritage dwelling has not changed much. The interior, however, was modified considerably to accommodate approximately 20 nuns who lived there.
Since 2011, multiple community services are offered on the site.
